Congressman Gregory W. Meeks Features Resume Clinic at Federal Job Fair Friday, June 11

Jamaica, NY – Have you ever wondered what you can do to make your resume jump to the top of the pile? Congressman Gregory W. Meeks (D-NY) is featuring a resume clinic with Career Experts, Lainie Bennett and Joanne Ognibene during his Federal Job Fair at York College on Friday, June 11, at 10:00AM.

The resume clinic will provide expert advice on improving resumes, customization, networking and feedback on making a great first impression in an interview.

More than three dozen agencies and private companies, will be represented at the Federal Job Fair including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms (ATF), Federal Air Marshall Service (FAMS), Food Drug Administration (FDA), Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Social Security (SSA), US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), United States Small Business Administration (SBA), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Association for the Advancement of Blind and Retarded (AABR), Citibank, Council for Airport Opportunity, Delta Airlines, JetBlue Airways, New York life Insurance, New York Police Department, New York State Unified Court System, and TD Bank.

Federal Job Fair attendees will have the opportunity to participate in workshops that will provide information and resources designed to improve job-seeking skills. Congressman Meeks will lead a workshop on Life Experiences and Transferable Skills. AARP will present a workshop on Rejoining the Workforce After Retirement.

The event is free and open to the public, attendees are asked to bring resumes and to dress professionally. York College is located at 94-20 Guy R. Brewer Boulevard, Jamaica, NY 11451.
